Hard Ball

Dear RRVB Member Families,

The Red River Valley Baseball (“RRVB”) Board of Directors, including its member Community Clubs, would like to notify its members that after an extensive and thoughtful deliberation, has voted by large majority to not proceed with offering a 2020 summer baseball season.

With RRVB not offering a 2020 summer baseball season all members are free to register with any other Association that is offering baseball. Please go to the following City of Winnipeg Associations websites to see what programming they may be offering for the summer of 2020:

Bonivital Baseball - https://bonivitalbaseball.ca/

North Winnipeg Minor Baseball - http://www.nwmba.ca/

St. James Assiniboia Minor Baseball Association - http://stjamesminorbaseball.net/

Winnipeg South Minor Baseball - http://www.winnipegsouth.net/

Many of you have received your registration refunds and we will continue to work through all the refunds as quickly as possible.

The RRVB Board of Directors would like to extend our deepest thanks to all our members for the patience you have shown throughout this process. This decision was not easy or quick and was not taken lightly.

We wish you all the best in having a great, safe and healthy summer, and we will see you on the diamond again soon.

For the 2020 season Online Registration for Baseball will be done through the Red River Valley Baseball website.

Registration is open until March 12 for AAA and AA.

Registration is open until March 27 for A.

Go to www.redrivervalleybaseball.ca/content/Online-Player-Coach-Registration to register.

Please note that whenever you enroll your child in this baseball, it requires the cooperation of at least 5 parents to manage the team. There is the contact person (sometimes the coach), and then there is usually a 1st base coach, a 3rd base coach, someone to count pitches, and someone to keep score. So please keep this in mind when registering and indicate this on your form.

Baseball usually starts around the beginning of May, weather permitting.

Rally Cap Info Pamphlet

Hardball for players aged 4-8 is a program called Rally Cap.  There are no more than 6 players per team.  There are 3 teams on the field at one time.  One team is batting, one team is fielding in the infield, and the third team is working on drills with the coach in the outfield. Every inning, they rotate, so each team will take a turn batting, doing infield, and working on drills in the outfield.  Coaches underhand pitch. Rally Cap is for both boys and girls.
